Conference Dinner

Audrey Skorski & Kimberly DiSomma
E-mail Conference Dinner

A potluck dinner is prepared by parents and served to teachers and staff before the evening parent/teacher conferences.  Volunteers are needed to make various dishes that will be served and to help set up and clean up on the night of the dinner.

Election Day Bake Sale

Karen Sawyer
E-mail Election Day Bake Sale

Baked goods are sold to voters during the morning election hours.   We need bakers to donate delicious treats for us to sell.  We also need people to help man the table the morning of election day.  We usually run 2 hour shifts.  There is a drop-off the night before the election.  Volunteers are needed the night before to help collect the items and wrap them up and make them look as “pretty” as they are delicious!  Not a baker?  We will always take monetary donations to help off-set the cost of buying the other supplies we need.  If you are interested in helping out, just contact the Chairperson.

Fall Fundraiser

Audrey Skorski

A fundraising opportunity for families to ‘drive for dollars’ and kick the year off right!

Giving Tree

Tracy Corey

Support our Essential Arts and Special Services Teachers by helping them to stock their classroom with some basic items that they use every day while working with our children.  Volunteers may be needed to help get the “Wish” lists and make up the leaves that are posted on the “trees” that are posted in the office and outside the community room between conference time in November until just before break.

Ice Cream Social

Melissa Jordan & Tracy Corey

The Ice Cream Social is usually held in conjunction with the Book Fair on the night that it is open late.  It is held in the cafeteria and volunteers are needed to help serve the ice cream and clean up when it is over.

Kindergarten/1st Grade Picnic

Susan Burkhardt

An opportunity for the incoming Kindergarten families to have a nice, casual introduction to their new school.  You will meet some of the teachers and other families starting Kindergarten while enjoying your picnic dinner on the grass by the playscapes.  Current Kindergarten and First Grade families are also invited.

Sidewalk Chalk

Kimberly DiSomma

The afternoon before the start of school, volunteers are need to come help decorate the sidewalk in front of the school where the buses come in and the sidewalk outside the community room where students are dropped off.  Sidewalks are filled with fun and inspirational messages and pictures to welcome students and teachers back for the start of another school year.  Bring yourself and your chalk and help with this fun new tradition!

Spring Book Fair

Brenda Bula

Volunteers are needed to help work the hours of the book fair.  In addition, people are needed to help set up the fair and break it down after the last day.  Extra people are usually needed for the spring fair because it is our “buy one, get one free” event and the students need a little extra help, especially the younger ones.

Trivia Night

Karen Sawyer

A fun night out for parents to compete in teams against each other.  Fun prizes for top teams and fun for everyone in attendance!!  We need people to help organize the events of the night and solicit local/area businesses for items or donations we can use as prizes.

Trunk or Treat

Theresa Brysgel & Tracy Corey

An event that will provide families with children in middle school, elementary school and younger to a night of Halloween fun.  Lots of people are needed to pull this event off.  Sub committees – parking, haunted house, pumpkins, kitchen, and games/ticket sales – chairs and volunteers needed.  This event takes quite a few people to get it off the ground and running.  No amount of time is too small.  Even if you can only help for an hour or two – every little bit ensures that the event will take place.

Winter Benefit

A special night out for the adults.  Put on your party clothes and participate in a live auction.

Winter Book Fair

Nancy Visco

Volunteers are needed to help work the hours of the book fair.  In addition, people are needed to help set up the fair and break it down after the last day.  The night of the book fair can be extra crazy with people purchasing gifts for the holidays so extra help is usually needed.

Wolf Pack Game

Liz Gorgoglione

A fun night out, usually a Friday night in January, with other MES families routing on our own Hartford Wolfpack!! At the event, the students will may have the opportunity to either hold the Big Flag or sing with the Chorus group.  A few parent volunteers will be needed to help escort the children to and from their activity.
